300th Post

You would think that in six years, I would have posted more than 300 times, but I suppose I'm not as verbose as I like to believe I am.

I'm sitting in the DFW airport terminal at the moment. I was supposed to leave 15 minutes ago on a flight for Indianapolis for a graduate school audition I'm having tomorrow. Unfortunately, I got a little hungry and decided to grab a quick bite to eat. I went to the TGIFriday's directly next to my gate thirty minutes before time to board. I had an exceptionally slow waiter who averaged ten minutes between stops to my table. I didn't realize until I had already gotten my soda and appetizer that I didn't have any cash on me, so it took me twenty minutes just to pay once I was done eating. I was unfortunately unable to flag down any other employees; in retrospect I should have gotten up and tracked one down, but I didn't quite realize how much time was passing while I was sitting at the restaurant and figured I would be fine. I was wrong.

I got to the gate and watched my flight pulling away. Missed it by two minutes. Rats.

Anyway, I'm now on standby for the 1:00 flight and am writing this entry just to kill time. There are three seats available on the flight, so just so long as no more than two folks are willing to pay full price for a ticket I should still get there today for my original ticket price. In the meantime, I'm sitting in the terminal, reading books, sending text messages, and writing a blog entry. Two hours and fifteen minutes from now, I should be on my way. Here's hoping.
